I haven't been around as much as I would like. I'm truly sorry.

New York after super storm Sandy |
I have friends on the East Coast that have faced disaster, and friends here that have faced death. Parts of Jamaica have been flooded; the Earth is rumbling from Myanmar to Alaska and everywhere in between. We have faced a tough election, and an even tougher loss for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Devastation is lurking everywhere, destruction is waiting for a glimpse of weakness so it may spring into action and cause people to crumble.

Myanmar after 6.8 quake |
The tides are ever changing, nothing remains the same. At times, I think this may be where our problems originate. We are at a point when God has been put on the back burner. This is the Bible Belt, is that even possible? You better believe it. It's happening. We have become about the building, the band, and the numbers; yes, numbers. Because we all know the biggest is the best. Insert sarcasm. If the biggest were the best, Alphonse Taylor would be the best player on the University of Alabama's football team. Anyways, His people need to get back to what we were originally called into. A life where you not only claim Christianity, but you live it to. That goes for all of us; me, you, your parents, siblings, great aunts and uncles. Everyone. I'm convinced that if His people were His people Monday through Sunday, things would be radically different.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’-Matthew 7:21-23
"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, is happy" -Proverbs 29:18
We live in a country where we are given the freedom of speech, the freedom of religion, the freedom to live out the life we were called to, rather called by God or self, that's an entirely different conversation. We can choose any life to lead. We are blessed with family and faith. We are blessed to live in the free world. We are blessed with the Holy Spirit. With all of this being said, especially the first paragraph of this blog, don't you think it's about time for us just to be thankful. We are so in a fizzy about every little thing. We need to step back, take a breath, realize that everything that happens is directed by the hand of God. We never count our blessings, until there's nothing left to count. Don't miss out on what God is doing for you right now, it could be gone just like that.
Keep Calm and Be Thankful!
Steps off soap box.
